Board of Ministry Meeting @ FCRC
The District Board of Ministry meets to review, examine, and act upon ministerial matters including:
Licensing and ordination of ministers (all applications were due Mar 15)
Reviewing credentials and ministerial standing
Evaluating candidates for ministry
Conducting official credentialing business for the district
This is a critical meeting for any minister in the process of licensure or ordination within the East Tennessee District.
Marriage Enrichment Retreat — Gatlinburg, TN
The East Tennessee District Marriage Enrichment Retreat is a beloved tradition hosted by the district for over 45 years. Couples come together for a weekend of renewal, encouragement, and connection in the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Gatlinburg. The retreat features:

Assembly Year Ends
This marks the official close of the 2025–2026 District Assembly Year for the East Tennessee District Church of the Nazarene. All annual reports, pastoral forms, NMI end-of-year forms, and ministry records for the year must be finalized. The new assembly year will begin following the District Conventions & Assembly in July 2026.
1st Quarter IRS Taxes Due
A reminder to all district churches, organizations, and ministers that 1st Quarter estimated IRS taxes are due. This is a federal tax deadline relevant to self-employed ministers and church organizations required to file quarterly
District NMI Prayer Retreat / Council Meeting
The NMI (Nazarene Missions International) Prayer Retreat and Council Meeting is a gathering of NMI leaders and members from across the East Tennessee District. This two-day event combines:
Prayer Retreat: A focused time of intercession for global missions, missionaries, and unreached peoples — in the spirit of the NMI's Global Week of Prayer tradition
Council Meeting: District NMI leadership convenes to conduct official business, review missions giving (LINKS, DSA), plan upcoming initiatives, and coordinate district-wide missions involvement
TNT @ TNU (Top Nazarene Talent at Trevecca Nazarene University)
TNT (Top Nazarene Talent) is a major Southeast Field youth competition and showcase program that has been running since 1986. It is designed to help Nazarene teens develop and channel their God-given talents for Christ. The program focuses on:
🏆 Personal development and excellence in Christ
🤝 Christian sportsmanship and leadership training
🌱 Fellowship, evangelism, and discipleship among youth
District – 7 Hour Fasting & Prayer
A monthly district-wide call to fasting and prayer, observed across participating East Tennessee Nazarene churches. Members are encouraged to set aside seven hours for focused prayer, intercession, and spiritual renewal on behalf of the district, local churches, missionaries, and global needs. This is a recurring spiritual discipline practiced monthly throughout the district year.
EASTER / Easter Offering for WEF
Easter Sunday — the most significant celebration in the Christian calendar, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Congregations across the district hold special worship services.
Alongside Easter worship, churches collect the Easter Offering for the World Evangelism Fund (WEF) — a nearly 100-year Nazarene tradition. Gifts to this offering fund the Church of the Nazarene's global mission network, mobilizing thousands of people to share Christ's love around the world through church planting, evangelism, and ministry
All Dept. Budgets & Calendars Due
This is the administrative deadline by which all department leaders across the East Tennessee District must submit their budgets and calendars for the upcoming assembly year. It ensures proper financial planning and scheduling coordination across ministries including NMI, NYI, NDI, and Children's Ministries.
Childrens Talent
This a district‑level event where kids from Nazarene churches across East Tennessee come together to showcase their God‑given talents in a fun, encouraging, and Christ‑centered environment.
TNU Trustees Meeting
What this event is:
A governance meeting of Trevecca’s highest leadership board
Used to review reports, set direction, and make major decisions for the university
Involves university administrators and trustees
All District License & Ordination Apps. Due
This is the final day for pastors, ministers‑in‑training, or candidates pursuing ordination to turn in their forms, evaluations, references, and supporting documents to the district office so they can be processed, reviewed, and scheduled for interviews with the District Board of Ministry.

The East Tennessee District Church of the Nazarene will gather teens from across the district for the March Quizzing Meet Finals. This event brings youth together for a day of Scripture knowledge, friendly competition, and spiritual growth.

District Ministry Team Retreat
A district‑wide retreat designed for ministry teams to rest, reconnect, and seek spiritual renewal. The event emphasizes worship, fellowship, and refreshment for leaders who serve throughout the district.
NYI Leadership Conference
A district‑level leadership event for youth leaders in the Church of the Nazarene. Designed to provide training, ministry development, and connection opportunities for those serving in youth leadership roles.
Global Day Of Prayer
The 30th annual Nazarene Missions International (NMI) Global Week of Prayer is March 1–7, 2026, focusing on praying for the Church of the Nazarene’s six world regions. This yearly event, held during the week including the first Friday of March, unites Nazarenes worldwide in prayer, praise, and fasting, with resources available in over 30 languages.
Pastors Prayer Retreat
The East Tennessee District pastors will gather at St. Mary’s in Sewanee, a peaceful mountaintop retreat center designed for rest, reflection, and spiritual renewal. This retreat offers pastors a sacred space to step away from daily responsibilities and enter a rhythm of prayer, silence, and fellowship with other ministry leaders
Children’s Bible Quiz #4
The East Tennessee District Church of the Nazarene will gather children from across the district for Children’s Bible Quiz #4, a fun and faith‑building event designed to help young students grow in their knowledge of Scripture. Quizzers will participate in rounds that encourage teamwork, confidence, and a deeper love for God’s Word.
